About Nexé

The Nexé KNX Matter Bridge enables seamless integration of existing KNX installations with leading smart home ecosystems — Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings.

Designed specifically for completed KNX projects, it works alongside current controllers like Control4 and existing KNX IP infrastructure — with zero system redesign required.

A single Nexé Flow replaces the stack of proprietary gateways traditionally required to expose KNX to consumer apps. Connect over the existing KNX TP bus, and lighting, shades, HVAC, and sensors become instantly controllable through Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings — simultaneously, with no cloud dependency and no vendor lock-in.

Nexé Flow is a Matter-based controller that connects directly to a KNX wired automation system — bringing decades of reliable, installed KNX infrastructure into the modern Matter smart-home standard.

No Changes Required

Works with your existing KNX wiring, IP gateway, and ETS programming. Nothing is moved, replaced, or reprogrammed.

Instant Apple Home

Enables Apple Home and Siri control from day one. Simple QR-code commissioning — live in minutes.

One Device, Every Ecosystem

A single bridge delivers Apple, Google, Alexa, and SmartThings simultaneously with no additional hardware.

Complete Control

No additional gateways — one Flow replaces Apple, Google, and Alexa-specific bridges. No vendor lock-in — open Matter standard, open KNX standard, multi-ecosystem by design.

Native KNX · Native Matter

Direct connection to the KNX TP bus. All bridging logic runs on the Flow edge controller. Commands travel bus → Flow → fabric in milliseconds, with no dependency on an internet connection for day-to-day control.

Architecture

One device. No additional gateways. No cloud dependency.

KNX devices connect to an existing KNX IP gateway over the local KNX bus. The Nexé KNX Matter Bridge operates as a local edge controller, translating between KNX group addresses and Matter device types. User apps (Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings) communicate through the Matter fabric with two-way command and state synchronization.
Command Path →

A tap in Apple Home or a voice command to Alexa enters the Matter fabric, is translated by the Nexé KNX Matter Bridge into the correct KNX group address and datapoint type, and reaches the actuator in milliseconds — without a cloud round-trip.

← State Sync Path

A wall-switch press, a motion sensor, or any KNX-side event is read from the bus, translated back into Matter cluster attributes, and pushed to every connected ecosystem simultaneously. Apple, Google, Alexa, and SmartThings stay in lock-step with the physical state of the house.

Why Nexé KNX Matter Bridge?

Engineered to deliver a premium smart home experience on existing KNX infrastructure.

Native KNX Integration

Connects to your existing KNX IP gateway. No rewiring, no ETS reprogramming, and no changes to field devices. Works with ABB, Hager, Jung, and all major KNX brands.

Works with Control4

Operates in parallel with Control4 and other controllers. Does not replace existing automation. Adds the Apple, Google, and Alexa layer to any completed project.

Secure by Design

End-to-end encrypted Matter communication. Secure QR-code onboarding. No open firewall ports. Resident behaviour never leaves the home.

Retrofit Friendly

Installs in the existing KNX IP cabinet. Works alongside Control4 and other visualisation systems — adds a new control layer without replacing anything.

Scenes & Automation

Trigger KNX scenes by name via voice, schedules, occupancy, or geofencing. Works natively with Apple Shortcuts, Google Routines, and Alexa automations.

Matter Enablement

Full Matter bridge functionality. Lighting (on/off and dimming), curtains, blinds, fans, HVAC, and scenes exposed as standard Matter device types.

Local Processing

All bridging logic runs on the device. Commands execute in milliseconds with no cloud dependency. The system continues to operate even when the internet is offline.

Multi-Ecosystem Support

A single bridge for all platforms — Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings simultaneously, with no additional hardware.

Simple Commissioning

Fast setup via the Nexé app. Map KNX group addresses to Matter devices visually. No changes to ETS. Minimal configuration and low support overhead.

The Business Case

What the Nexé KNX Matter Bridge changes for integrators and end users.

For Integrators

New Revenue from Installed Base

Upgrade existing clients to Apple Home and voice control — no site redesign required.

Expand Your Offering

Add Matter expertise and the Apple ecosystem to your portfolio without added complexity.

Quick Upgrade Solution

Commission and deliver in hours. No rewiring, no ETS changes, and low support overhead.

Works Alongside Control4

Complements rather than competes. Positions the bridge as an addition, not a replacement.

For End Users

Unified Experience

One home app for everything. No separate visualisation panels or complex UIs.

Voice — Any Platform

Say it to Siri, Alexa, or Google — all three respond without separate configuration.

Protects Existing Investment

No rip-and-replace. Every KNX device, every wired run, and every programmed scene remain unchanged.

iPhone & Apple Home Control

Control lighting, blinds, and scenes natively from the Apple Home app and Siri.

Where It Fits

From completed villas to multi-unit developments — the bridge that connects every KNX installation to every ecosystem.

Say it. See it happen.

Devices & Voice Controls

Every supported KNX device type becomes voice-addressable and app-controllable the moment the bridge is commissioned.
